Mr. Manohar Joshi.

Ex - Speaker Loksabha

Dear friends,

I am delighted to learn that the Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth (Trust), Pune is engaged in a unique but noble experiment of spreading the technical education amongst multitudes of aspirants across the country.
Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth (Trust) is named after the 13th century saint Dnyaneshwar who did not have any formal schooling but still rose to the scholastic standard by his commentary in simple Marathi on the Bhagavad-Gita titled 'Dnyaneshwari ' .The Vidyapeeth (Trust) is engaged in the task of providing equal opportunity to everyone in the field of education and the experiment carried out by them have benefited the people from the section of the society. The Swadhyay Kendras under the aegis of the Vidyapeeth (Trust) maintain their unique identity by way of rich, flexible and dynamic curriculum to everyone irrespective of financial or academic background. We pay rich tributes to a great visionary late Dr. M. D. Apte who has been instrumental in opening the gates of higher education, at affordable cost to masses over two decades ago in Pune. I feel privileged to be associated with Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth (Trust).
I compliment all the past and present management, the faculties and the students for their combined efforts in making the Vidyapeeth (Trust) an abode for excellence in the field of technical education. Let us strive towards making this experiment a grand success.

Mr. Madhur Bajaj

Vice-Chairman, Bajaj Auto Ltd

I have been connected with Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth through its Hon. Vice Chancellor, Mr.. Arun Kudale.
The concept adopted by the Vidyapeeth is innovative and needs vigorous encouragement. India in the quest to become a super power must ensure right work culture, discipline and values. The course structure adopted by the Vidyapeeth aims to do just that. I feel confident that students who are unable to join the traditional mainstream education system will find the opportunities offered by the Vidyapeeth as a gift from heaven to carve their career for a better future. I was very happy to learn that at the Hanover Fair Mr. Kapil Sibal mentioned this - "No policy initiative should be taken to dilute the level of excellence in research and development and educational institutions, which will negatively impact our ability to compete in the global economy". The same holds true for industry.
I wish the students, staff and faculty of Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth the very best in the future years under the able leadership of Mr.. Arun Kudale.

Executive Editor and Director, Sakal Papers Ltd

I am of the opinion that it is not fair to judge a person only from the certificates. Many young persons who were not able to pass written examinations with flying colours, are found to be doing extremely good in their own job or business as a result of hard work and sincerity. Dr. M D Apte understood this long ago and opened new avenues or opportunities for young people through Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth. The present education system is still not able to identify the true potential in a student and experiments like Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth need to be taken seriously.

Mr.Prakash Ratnaparkhi.

Director, Electronica

We have been employing students of Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth for a long time and found them sincere, hardworking, practical. Since they undergo hands-on training during their studentship, they are aware of problems involved and can think of out-of-the-way solutions. We have observed time and again that traditional pattern of judging a student is not necessarily always correct, and given an opportunity, other students can also excel in their professional life, with their sincerity and hard work.

Ex - Central Cabinet Minister &
Ex - Chairman 8th Planning commission

The Chairman of the 8th planning commission too, was in favour of the open university concept and he specifically mentioned to this effect in his report. An excerpt of the same is presented below.
With measures to curb commercialisation, AICTE should also encourage innovative institutional initiatives such as the Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth, in Pune. Established in 1980 as an Open University for Technical Education, it has not been recognised by University system or AICTE so far but the contents of its courses, their flexibility, openness to modern developments, the favorable response from industry, the system of final year work experience, very low costs, its use of existing buildings and faculty, its system of selection of students, its rapport with parents are features which elicit admiration and suggest the study of this experiment that deserves to be examined for expanding them on a larger scale in our effort to improve Technical Education system. AICTE norms should be suitably flexible to accommodate such innovative and cost effective experiments and initiatives.

knew Dr. Manohar

W for a long time and have been interacting with him about his unique experiment in education called Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth. The thrust on practical experience laid down by Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth is the unique characteristic, I find very impressive. Although Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth has never sought any recognition for this experiment from government, I feel that acceptance of its students by industry and society is its true recognition. However, I appeal to the trustees of Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth Trust to supplement this statement with relevant statistics so that the experiment can be presented as a case study in itself.

Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth (Trust) is an "Educational Trust" and not an University under any Central or State Govt. agency like UGC or AICTE.
